- 225 g lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic finely chopped
- 1 jar (213 ml) tomato sauce
- 1/3 cup chopped carrot
- ¼ cup of water
- 2 tbsp. red wine
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1½ cup cooked and hot penne
- Chopped fresh parsley
- Brown beef, onion and garlic 6 to 8 minutes in medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring to break up meat; drain the fat.
- Add tomato sauce, carrot, water, wine and Italian seasoning; bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Serve sauce over pasta; sprinkle with parsley.
