Maple-seared scallops

Serves 4
  • 12 sea scallops
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch hot-red chili flakes
  • 10 ml canola oil
  • 15 ml maple syrup
  • 30 ml water
  1. Pat scallops dry with paper towel.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and chili flakes, season with fresh Pepper.
  3. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high, add oil.
  4. Sauteed the scallops until dark golden, about 2 minutes each side.
  5. Transfer the scallops to a plate and reduce heat to medium.
  6. Add maple syrup and water to the pan, stir until saucy, about 30 seconds.
  7. Drizzle over scallops and serve.
