Makes about 3 cups sauce
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 teaspoons orange-flavored liqueur or 1 teaspoon orange extract, if desired
- In 2-quart saucepan, heat milk, choclate chips and sugar to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly ; remove from heat.
- Stir in butter and liqueur until sauce is smooth and creamy ; serve warm.
- Store cover in refrigerator up to 4 weeks ; reheat slightly before serving, if desired.
Classic Fudge Sauce : Omit the liqueur and add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Irish Cream Fudge Sauce : Substitute 2 tablespoons Irish cream liqueur for the orange liqueur.
Raspberry-Chocolate Fudge Sauce : Substitute 2 tablespoons raspberry-flavored liqueur for the orange liqueur.
