Walnut Applesauce Pie (Best of country Pies)

 


6-8 servings

  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
  • Whipped cream, optional
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sugars and flour ; add eggs, applesauce, milk and vanilla, mix well and stir in walnuts.
  2. Pour into pastry shell ; bake at 375F for 40-45 minutes or until set.
  3. Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour and store in the refrigerator.
  4. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
