- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
- Whipped cream, optional
- In a mixing bowl, combine sugars and flour ; add eggs, applesauce, milk and vanilla, mix well and stir in walnuts.
- Pour into pastry shell ; bake at 375F for 40-45 minutes or until set.
- Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour and store in the refrigerator.
- Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
