Broiled ham steaks with honey mustard

 


                Serve the ham steaks with scalloped sweet potatoes.

Makes 4 servings

  • 2 fully cooked ham steaks, ½ inch thick (about 10 ounces each)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons honey mustard
  • ¼ cup dry bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  1. Preheat broiler ; pat ham steaks dry.
  2. Combine 2 tablespoons butter and mustard in small bowl ; combine bread crumbs and parmesan cheese on waxed paper.
  3. Coat ham with mustard mixture, then dip in crumbs, pressing crumbs onto steaks ; arrange on oiled broiler-pan rack and drizzle with half the remaining butter.
  4. Broil in preheated broiler 4 inches from heat for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown ; drizzle second side with remaining butter before broiling.
