The tart cranberries blend beautifully with the sweet chocolate and vanilla chips.
About 9 dozens
- ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
- ½ cup shortening
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup vanilla chips
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars ; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition ; beat in vanilla.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt ; gradually add to the cream mixture.
- Stir in the chips, cranberries and pecans ; drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake at 375F for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown ; cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
