Frozen bread dough makes these pizzas simple to fix for a hearty party snack or a festive light lunch.
Makes 16 individual pizzas
Easy tomato sauce ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 can/14½ ounces stewed tomatoes, crushed
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon leaf oregano, crumbled
- Salt and pepper
Mini-pizzas ingredients
- 1 loaf (1 pound) frozen bread dough, thawed according to package directions
- 2 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup Greek olives, pitted and chopped
Prepare easy tomato sauce
- Heat oil in medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic ; cook 1 minute.
- Add tomatoes, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper ; lower heat, simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until mixture is reduced to 1¼ cups, about 20 minutes.
Prepare mini-pizzas
- Preheat oven to 425F ; grease large baking sheets.
- Cut bread dough crosswise into ½-inch-thick slices ; place about 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
- Knead each piece with fingers into a 3-inch round.
- Spread equal amount of sauce on each round ; top with cheese and olives.
- Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until crusts are browned and topping bubbly.
