Chocolate Chip Cookies (Choclate Chip bars or Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies) (Holiday Menus for Family)

 


About 6 dozens regular size cookies

  • 1 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
  • 1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)
  1. Heat oven to 375F.
  2. Mix margarine, sugars and egg in large bowl; stir in flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
  4. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet ; bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown (center will be soft).
  5. Cool slightly and remove from cookie sheet ; cool on a wire rack.
Chocolate Chip Bars
  1. Press dough in ungreased rectangle pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches.
  2. Bake 22-25 minutes or until golden brown ; cool.
  3. Cut into about 3 x 1½-inch bars. (24 bars).
Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies
  1. Drop dough by ¼ cupfuls about 3 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  2. Bake 12-15 minutes or until edges are set ; cool completely and remove from cookie sheet. (About 1½ dozens).
