Old-Fashioned Custard Pie (Best of country Pies)

 


6-8 servings

  • 1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2½ cups milk
  • ½ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  1. Bake pastry shell at 400F for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, beat eggs in a large bowl ; add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. Pour into crust ; cover edges with foil.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean ; cool completely and store in refrigerator.
