Have fun picking the ice cream flavor for this special treat. Try chocolate, vanilla, strawberr or any flavor that you like and use a purchased chocolate crumb crust instead of making your own crust.
Makes 8 servings
- 18 creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed (about 1½ cups)
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
- 1 quart coffe ice cream, slightly softened
- ½ cup sliced almonds, toasted
- 1 cup hot fudge sauce, warmed (click here for homemade fudge sauce)
- In a small bowl, mix crushed cookies and butter until well blended ; press on bottom and up side of ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate and freeze about 15 minutes or until firm.
- Carefully spread ice cream evenly in crust ; sprinkle with almonds and freeze about 3 hours or until firm.
- Remove pie from freezer about 10 minutes before serving and serve with hot fudge sauce ; store covered in freezer.
