Moroccan Lamb Burger (Barbecue and Grilling)

 


                For a bold burger, you can't beat this one, with its Moroccan spices and fiery topping.

4 burgers

Harissa mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon harissa (or to taste)
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice (opional)
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together all the ingredients ; set aside.
Lamb burger
  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 3 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
  • 1 taspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 kaiser rolls, hamburger buns or pita breads
  • Leaf lettuce and sliced tomatoes, cucumber and onion
  1. Prepare a medium-hot fire in your grill.
  2. In a large bowl, using your hands, combine lamb, bread crumbs, green onion, cumin, coriander, turmeric and cinnamon ; form into four ½-inch (1 cm) thick patties.
  3. Grill burgers for 3 to 4 minutes per side, turning once, or until a meat thermometer inserted in the center of a burger registers 160F (71C).
  4. Place each burger on a roll, top with harissa mayonnaise and garnish with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onion.
