Five-Chip Cookies


     With peanut butter, oats and five kinds of chips, these cookies make a hearty snack that appeal ti kids of all ages.

Makes 4 dozens

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter 
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup each milk chocolate chips, semisweet chocolate chips, peaunut butter chips, vanilla chips and butterscotch chips
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter, peanut butter and sugars ; beat in eggs, one at a time.
  2. Beat in vanilla.
  3. Combine flour, oats, baking soda and salt ; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in chips.
  5. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets ; bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes or until browned.
  6. Cool 1 minute before removing to wire racks.
