Penne with Bolognese Sauce

 


Makes 2 servings

  • 225 g lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic finely chopped
  • 1 jar (213 ml) tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup chopped carrot
  • ¼ cup of water
  • 2 tbsp. red wine
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1½ cup cooked and hot penne
  • Chopped fresh parsley

  1. Brown beef, onion and garlic 6 to 8 minutes in medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring to break up meat; drain the fat.
  2. Add tomato sauce, carrot, water, wine and Italian seasoning; bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Serve sauce over pasta; sprinkle with parsley.
