Toad in the hole

 


                It's a Yorkshire family recipe that young and old love! Accompany this dish with mashed potatoes and onion chutney.

For 4 servings

  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 165 g flour
  • 120 ml water
  • 160 ml milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 8 pork sausages
  • 15 ml fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  1. Pour the olive oil in a square or rectangular dish and spread it well all over.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400F (200C).
  3. In a salad bowl, pour the flour, add the water and the milk alternately; add the beaten eggs and beat well so that the dough is smooth, homogeneous and without lumps; salt and pepper.
  4. Place the sausages in the oiled dish and cover them with the previous mixture.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve hot sprinkled with fresh rosemary
