Pastrami is a marinated and spiced beef that can be found in any Jewish store or grocery store. The pastrami bagel is the quintessential New York bagel.
For 1 bagel
- 1 bagel
- 1 tomato
- 1 red onion
- 1 Boston lettuce leaf
- 3 nice slices of pastrami
- 15 ml honey mustard
- Cut bagel in half; toast each half in a toaster for 2 minutes to crisp up the bagel.
- Slice the tomato and red onion into thin rounds.
- Place the lettuce leaf on half of the bagel, then successively add the tomato and onion rings, the pastrami and the mustard.
- Close the bagel with the other half.
- Preheat the oven to 350F (180C) and bake the bagel in the oven for 4 minutes; press down on bagel to hold it in place and cut in half.
- Enjoy immediately.
